We are delighted to announce the exclusive and active contribution of Counselor Dr. Ali Yassien the founding partner of Yassien and Partners at the inaugural conference held by The Egyptian Center for Arbitration and Settlement of Non-Banking Financial Disputes (“ECAS”) under the excellent supervision of Dr. Marian Kaldas - the Executive Director of ECAS. The Confeence was under the theme "Family Businesses: Prospects for Growth and Sustainability", and it was held on Tuesday 31st October 2023 under the patronage of the Financial Regulatory Authority (“FRA”).

Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh – the Chairman of the FRA, Mr. Ahmed El Shiekh – the Executive Director of the Egyptian Stock Exchange Authority (“EGX”), selected representative from the FRA and the Egyptian Stock Exchange Authority, and top tiers law-firms in Egypt, with the participation of major family businesses.

Dr. Counselor Ali Yassien was responsible for moderating the Second Panel named 'Structure and governance of Family Businesses,' featured insights from industry leader from Stock exchange, governance and company structuring specialists. They elaborated the importance of listing at EGX, and the benefits of applying appropriate governance rules on family businesses through statute, charter or constitution of the family in order to avoid conflicts and ensure the facility of transition to third and fourth generation to guarantee stability and development.

At the end of his speech, Dr. Ali Yassien elaborated the difference between conciliation and mediation as amicable dispute resolution mean conducted by independent Mediation and Arbitration Centers and that conducted by the Preparatory and Mediation committee at the Economic Court. Dr. Yassien further elaborated the special nature of this type of companies ‘Family’ and he introduced his wide experience in handling such cases as former judge at the court of appeal; beside his unique experience as being arbitrator or mediator and special legal adviser to some Family Businesses Since 2007.
